comes from a Gujarati family.

made his debut in the Bollywood through a movie Dil Pe Mat le Yaar with the
famous stars Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee.
He
married to Suneeta Sengupta in 2003, before that he was married to Shefali
Shah.
After
doing minor roles in the daily soap, from TV Series named Hasratien, 1990 (played the character of Krishnakant Trivedi ) he started getting prominent roles.
He
got his first major role by Mahesh Bhatt as Karan in Swabhimaan,1995.
He
is known for playing the character of Wealthy Boss in the movies as well as in
the TV serials. Similar Character was played by him in the movie Laga Chhunri
Main Dag.
He
was seen in the role of Businessman in the movies Corporate,2006 and Bheja
Fry,2007.
He
has acted in nearly 25+ movies such as Ghayal Once Again, Jolly LLB, Oh,My God!,
Bheja Fry and My Friend Ganesh 2.
He also wrote and directed the movie Khajoor pe Atke,2018.

an interview with Indian Express he said about Saas bahu Type serials-
No, I'm definitely
not one. But if that's what the audience wants then we have to cater to that
need. However, it's fair to say that while I don't watch any of these shows, if
I do get a meaty role in one then I will take it up. We don't have much of a choice
in that regard and after all, we do have to earn a living.
